WHAT’S TRENDING THIS YEAR? TOP 5 FLOWER TRENDS OF SUMMER 2026

Summer is a season of abundance, and floral trends become bolder and more expressive than ever. This year, both romantic, lush blooms and unusual colour combinations are in style — choices that would have seemed quite unconventional just a few years ago.

Here are the flowers we at VIOLET see most often this summer and the ones that increasingly find their way into our customers’ hands.

PEONIES – THE TIMELESS AND UNRIVALED QUEENS

For years, peonies have remained among the most beloved summer flowers, and this season is no exception. They enchant with their lush blooms, delicate fragrance, and romantic atmosphere. That is why peony season is always eagerly awaited. To us, peonies feel incredibly special and breathtakingly beautiful, which is probably one of the reasons they have inspired artists and painters for centuries.

VIOLET favourites are soft pink and white shades that look stunning both in bouquets and flower boxes.

MATTHIOLA – BEAUTY WITH AN UNFORGETTABLE FRAGRANCE

Matthiola, also known as stock flowers, are among those blooms that customers fall in love with the very first time they smell them.

And I must admit — this year they have become one of my personal favourites as well. Countless bouquets have already been created featuring these wonderfully fragrant flowers.

They bring lightness, romance and a subtle vintage charm to arrangements. This summer they pair beautifully with peonies and garden roses.

ECUADORIAN ROSES – LUXURY IN EVERY PETAL

Large, lush and impressive. Ecuadorian roses are famous not only for their longevity but also for their exceptionally large blooms, often significantly bigger than other roses. They are premium-quality flowers and highly sought after around the world. Did you know that roses with reflexed petals are often called French-style roses? This elegant look has been trending for years, and Ecuadorian roses create some of the most stunning examples. There are also magnificent peony-style roses that combine the elegance of roses with the romantic shape of peonies. While peony season eventually ends, roses are available all year round. So if your loved one adores peonies, there is always a chance to surprise them with peony-like roses even in winter. Soft peach, pink and coral shades are especially popular this summer.

DYED CHRYSANTHEMUMS – THE NEW PEONIES?

If there is one flower florists around the world are talking about, it is dyed chrysanthemums. They surprise with their unusual colours and textures and are often called the “new peonies”. Combined with other flowers, they create an unmistakable luxury effect. These blooms are sold in high-end flower boutiques across the globe and continue to gain popularity. In Latvia, however, they are winning customers’ hearts more slowly. For many people, chrysanthemums are still associated with cemetery flowers, and overcoming this perception takes time. Nevertheless, we believe they will become increasingly popular here in the coming years.

DAHLIAS – CHARACTER AND ELEGANCE

Dahlias are the stars of late summer. Their incredible variety of shapes and colours makes it possible to create both romantic and contemporary bouquets. Natural-looking arrangements featuring dahlias as the main focal point are especially trendy this year. Dahlias are also increasingly popular in bridal bouquets. They are festive, structured and simply perfect – flowers that hold their shape beautifully and create a truly elegant atmosphere.

WHAT DO WE SEE AT VIOLET?

Above all, we are grateful for every order entrusted to us. We create each arrangement with passion, enthusiasm and joy, bringing your ideas to life.

We are always open to improvisation, challenges and even the wildest ideas. Still, our hearts belong to classic and romantic floristry.

At the same time, we are delighted to see more and more people willing to experiment and try something new. That is why we are especially curious to watch dyed chrysanthemums slowly make their way into Latvia. Perhaps they will become next summer’s biggest trend?

Wishing you and us a summer full of flowers!
